Simon Trella

Simon Terla was born in Poland. When he was 11 years old, he was forced to leave his native land due to the problems his family faced with the communist regime. He lived in a refugee camp in Germany for three years. He arrived in Canada in 1992. He later attended the University of Alberta where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in German Literature in 2001. Shortly thereafter, Simon was accepted to the University of Alberta School of Law, where he graduated in 2004.

Simon’s personal experiences, which he does not always consider pleasant, inspired Simon to practice mainly in areas of immigration law including: foreign expertise, refugee law, deportation applications, sponsor applications. Simon represents a large number of Canadian employers who continue to use the foreign workforce program.

He was also the head of Alberta Citizenship and Immigration from 2010 to 2012. Simon has also advised the media and has appeared in and on their news and provided his opinions on several legal issues in the fields of immigration law.

Simon also practices criminal law and has successfully defended clients involved in serious criminal charges.

Simon speaks English, Polish, German and Russian and will be more than happy to serve you in any of these languages.
